I’m Carmen de Jong – a 43-year old, Romanian ex-Timisoara resident now living with my husband and son in the little town Leerdam, the Netherlands.

Just in time… Once upon a time I had dreams of making it as a lawyer. I graduated in 2000 but never really pursued my dream. Life is unexpected they say and I moved to the Netherlands to start here a new chapter of my life. I have always been interested in fashion and yes, I must confess, as a young woman I’ve often dreamed to become a fashion designer.

Today I’m launching Chasing The White Rabbit Blog, just in time for my favorite all times : Christmas! My looks are so put together using pieces you probably have in your closet .When you think you have nothing to wear all you need is just a little direction. Breath calm and open your closed. The key is not to over think it. Opt for basics and style them around one statement-making piece.

 

A little bit more about me…

Known for my calm and collected appearance, mostly staying at a distance in order to observe people better I’ve been dubbed the “Ice Queen” . I have to admit I like dark, cold colors having a tendency to wear black – I describe my style as “classic-with-a-twist”. I have a passion for keeping in shape, people watching, travel, reading good books and generally seeking out life’s pleasures.

 

What to expect on the blog…

I believe that women of all ages should wear things they like, shapes what suits them, appropriate to the occasion (there is no age-appropriate style if you ask me). We can be fabulous at any age!

 

And don’t forget: life does begin at 40, if you decide that it does!
